‘Minute To Rest‘ es el nuevo sencillo de la banda belga MAUGER, anunciando de inmediato su segundo álbum, que se lanzará a finales de este año. Piensa en Kurt Vile, Daniel Norgren, Phosphorescent, Fleetwood Mac y todo lo que trae alegría a alguien que es aficionado a la música de guitarra sincera y suave.
La canción surgió de la necesidad de disfrutar un momento hermoso, sin estropearlo con pensamientos o consideraciones racionales. Simplemente tomando el momento con toda su fuerza tal como se muestra. Y así fue como nos reunimos en el estudio de grabación. Cuatro amigos inspirándose en lo que traiga el momento y respondiendo al juego del otro.
Porque aunque ‘Minute To Rest‘ suene relajado, fue escrito en un período agitado en la vida del compositor Mauger Mortier. Un período en el que comenzó a pensar demasiado en todo, de una manera que no podía descansar. Donde tenía ganas de correr por todo y por todos, sin poder capturar los hermosos momentos con las personas que amaba. Hasta que fue al estudio de grabación y aprendió a aceptar el momento.
‘Los momentos en los que solo estábamos nosotros cuatro en el estudio, fueron los únicos momentos en que no estábamos arreglando la agenda de otra persona. No teníamos que preocuparnos por nuestra propia música, porque era totalmente nuestra elección. Eso me trajo descanso.’

The song emerged from the need to enjoy a beautiful moment, without spoiling it with rational thoughts or considerations. Just taking the moment at full force as it shows itself. And that’s how we got together in the recording studio. No worries about what to play or not. Four friends getting inspiration from whatever the moment brings and responding to each other’s play.
Because even though ‘Minute To Rest‘ may sound relaxed, it was written in a hectic period in the life of songwriter Mauger Mortier. A period where he began to overthink everything, in a way that he couldn’t get no slack. Where he felt like running around for everything and everyone, without being able to capture the beautiful moments with the people he cared for. Until he went to the recording studio and learned to accept the moment.
‘The moments where it was only the four of us in the studio, were the only times we weren’t fixing someone else’s agenda. We didn’t have to worry about our own music, because it was totally our choice. That brought me rest.’
